Na'Tee - Female (Foxxy and Kyzer)- dob 09.21.2015
My husband and I decided it was time to bring a new dog into our family February of 2015,
when our, then current, German Shepherd was 8 ½ years old. We had gotten lucky with him, as
he was a puppy from a co-worker’s “oops” litter and hadn’t done the research we should have
done to ensure a healthy puppy, but this time wanted to do all the research to make sure we
not only picked a healthy puppy, but one from a breeder who not only cared about the breed,
but considered their dogs to be a part of their family.
I did months of research on breeders and finally found Jennifer and Jay of Creekside Kennels. I
contacted Jennifer who responded almost immediately to my inquiry and in such a friendly
manner that I felt like she was already a good friend. My husband and I discussed our options
and decided that we would like to visit the kennel before placing a deposit on a puppy. We
requested a visit and, without any hesitation, Jennifer and Jay were completely open and
willing to accommodate us whenever we could make the trip out.
Arriving at Creekside Kennels for the visit was simply an amazing experience. They had a couple
of the dogs out of their kennels to greet us and brought more out as we wanted to meet them.
Every one of the dogs was incredibly friendly and so happy to greet us that it was easy to see
that they were well loved fur-babies. Of course the dogs were all gorgeous as well!
They had a litter of puppies there when we arrived and the momma dog was one of the first we
met. She had no problem with us being near or picking up her puppies. Jennifer and Jay
answered every question we had knowledgably and kindly. We did not leave with unanswered
questions or feeling like we asked a dumb question. I was also impressed with the questions
that they asked of us, to ensure that we would be a good fit for one of their puppies and to
learn our level of experience with raising a German Shepherd puppy. Jennifer and Jay are
exactly what every breeder should be!
We put a deposit down on the first pick female in a litter for that upcoming fall/winter (Foxxy
and Kyzer). We were able to get our “puppy fix” whenever we wanted with pictures on
Facebook and on their website before our litter was finally born. After the litter was born,
Jennifer kept us up-to-date with the dogs and puppies and posted pictures at least once a week
as they grew. Once they were 4 weeks old we could visit them and we did. My husband and I
were able to visit them twice before they reached 7 weeks and find the puppy that we
connected with. They were all very social pups already at only 4 weeks old!
We picked out our puppy at 6 weeks old (Sparkles, now named Na’Tee) and knew she would be
the perfect addition to our family. We brought her home at 7 weeks and she fit right in with our
older dog and 2 cats. At 8 weeks old she had already learned the commands sit, down, go potty
and kennel. At 9 weeks she had additionally learned circle, spin, and watch. She is incredibly
easy to train and is a joy to watch as she explores the world around her. We are so lucky to
have found Creekside Kennels and are so grateful to Jennifer and Jay for the excellent care and
love that they give their dogs that help to produce such beautiful, smart, and friendly puppies.
We will definitely being going back to them for our next German Shepherd Dog!
