Hugo (2.27.14)
On April 27th, 2014 I met Jennifer and Jay half way to bring home my new best friend; His name is Hugo. Hugo means ‘intelligent’ and he is definitely nothing short of that! Hugo is now 4 months old and I couldn’t ask for a better puppy. He learned to sit in 2 days and he was potty trained in less than 2 weeks! Hugo is so loyal to me he even cried when I shut the shower curtain because he didn’t know where I went. Hugo has no fear! He isn’t even scared of the lawn mower or vacuum cleaner. Hugo has a loving personality. He will run up to adults, kids, and other animals and smother them with his love by licking them, saying hi, and waging his tail. As an OEF veteran living alone and going to college, I needed a fulltime companion and Hugo is definitely fulfilling that position. He absolutely loves to play fetch and go for walks and short jogs. He also enjoys chasing the shadows of the birds flying by (part of his fun/entertaining personality). He loves peanut butter as much as I do. I bought him his own jar! He also has an obsession with Starbucks… every time we go to the drive through he has 2 paws out the window to say hi to everyone inside. He is a big momma’s boy and I am completely okay with that! Hugo has attracted more attention in his 4 months of life than I have in the last 3 years!! The compliments never end when he meets somebody new. I haven’t met one person that doesn’t absolutely adore him. Everyone at the vet comes out to say hi when I bring him in. Hugo is currently certified as an emotional support animal. He will eventually get his certification as a service dog once he gets a little bit older and learns to accomplish the things I need him to do for me. I also plan to get him into search and rescue, agility, and shows/competitions. The possibilities are endless with this beautiful breed! It took me 3 hours to pick him out of the 3 males in the litter and I wouldn’t change my decision for any reason! I love this little guy with my whole heart and I wouldn’t trade him for the world! He has brought so much joy into my life which has helped improve my PTSD tremendously! The excitement he displays every morning and every time I walk through the door is absolutely heartwarming! Hugo is the first puppy I’ve ever owned. My experience with Jennifer and Jay was very professional and compassionate. I got to meet Hugo’s parents, brothers and sisters, and even his grandma! Like I stated earlier, they let me sit there for 3 hours until I made up my mind. I received emails, updates, and photos throughout the entire time I waited to pick up my puppy. Jennifer and Jay are very passionate and caring when it comes to their breeding standards. I can tell that they take great pride in the way they run their kennel. I did my research on a few different breeders near me, even some out of state, but Creekside Kennels turned out to be the most credible breeders. It is plainly evident that they take tremendous care of their dogs and puppies. I have no doubts about the way they handle the entire process. All of the dogs I met at their home have outstanding personalities, obedience, and loyalty which has all successfully been passed down to my little guy. I have already recommended Creekside Kennels to about eight different strangers that came up to Hugo and I while we were out walking. This is one experience in my life that went extremely well. I am very happy with my decision and I am very fortunate that I found such amazing breeders. Jennifer and Jay breed some of the most beautiful German Shepherds that I have ever seen!
