Bella (September 2008)
I wanted to write and put into words how my family has come to love and appreciate this unique female German Shepherd from your kennel. Bella is a loyal loving intelligent female who never seems to meet a stranger. Family & friends who meet her are amazed at her temperament and sweet disposition. So far the only times she barks or whines is when she is placed in her crate for bedtime. Bella plays with her selection of toys and is not the type of dog to chew or destroy anything in the house. She is not distracted by other dogs that bark at her while going for walks and shows great discipline around them. Even when my daughter's toy poodle barks at Bella, she only looks at him as if to ask "why does he bark at me"?
She loves to ride in our car and we take every opportunity to take her places and to experience new surroundings and people. Every where we go with her she is the topic of interest and comments on how beautiful and well behaved she is. Bella's favorite playtime is with her tennisball , she will run and bring the tennisball back until she is ready to drop from exhaustion. She displays a serious attention span to watching the ball and follows my every move with the ball.
Intelligence: where do I start? This dog learns fast and amazes us at the things she does on her own. One good example is how she goes to the front door to go out to potty and if no one sees that she is there, she will grab the retracable lead and drop it on the floor to get our attention for her to go out. Another is when my wife gets home from work and gets her out from the crate, she comes upstairs where I am sleeping and opens to door to come in and wake me for attention. When I speak of opening the door, I mean she has learned to jump up and hit the handle to unlatch the door to gain entry to the bedroom. She also has adopted a routine of coming upstairs while I get ready for work and is always lying on the floor of the bathroom when I get out of the shower. She liiterally wants to be where ever I am.
Loyal: She loves everyone in the family , yet she displays a great deal of attention to me when I am anywhere near her. She follows me everywhere I go practically. I once went out to my car and she could see me through the storm door , but must have gotten impatient because she jumped up to hit the door handle and opened the door to come running out to me, thus we have to lock the storm door to keep her inside. To keep her happy she pretty much goes where I go , except to work and she has resigned herself to staying with my wife as I leave each night. Bella does show geat affection for all of the family and each one takes turns at taking her out for potty breaks or walks.
In summary, I would have to say that Bella has been well worth the time, effort and cost. I beleive that you get what you pay for and the addition of service after the sale is just as important to me. You have been most gracious in answering all my e mails regarding questions about Bella's health and nutrition. I would say that anyone wanting the best in the bloodline of German Shepherds would do well to make their purchase from your kennel. It was well worth the drive to meet you in person as well as the mother of our girl.
Thanks so much
